Jaleena
"To me, advocacy means to me is supporting individuals who are in need, assisting individuals in finding a solid foundation when they are unable to on their own, helping individuals find their voice to speak up for themselves when they have been silenced, supporting survivors decisions and guiding them back into the world.
I wanted to become an advocate for the simple fact that I enjoy helping people. Whether they need guidance, advice, resources, basic necessities, or just someone to talk to. I find it to be so rewarding to help and watch the success of a survivor after everything they have been through."
Brooke
"Advocacy means to support or stand up for someone. It means to listen without judgment, provide information and guidance, to help someone find their voice.
I choose to work as an advocate because it allows me to help others that are experiencing a challenging time in their lives. It is my hope to help others navigate through their trauma, feel like they are heard and move towards a brighter future with confidence."
